Brian & Jay features the acoustic blend of Brian Wachhorst and Jay Middleton. Brian & Jay have performed together since 1997. The exciting chemistry that Brian & Jay bring to their performances make lasting impression on guests at corporate events, benefits and private parties throughout the Bay Area. Their comprehensive repertoire makes them appropriate for almost any setting. They have a unique ability to play almost any request on the spot. Because they play by ear, they are willing to be spontaneous and do whatever it takes to please an audience. Based on their success together Brian & Jay co-founded the popular Bay Area dance band All Star Jukebox in 2003. They offer trio and quartet acoustic ensembles in addition to their duo if requested. Jay Middleton (vocals): This talented San Francisco vocalist and composer has been performing his unique brand of pop folk all over the U.S. for the last 25 years. Jay was the co-founder, co-songwriter and lead singer of the popular Bay Area quintet "Occams Razor" which released two nationally distributed albums and toured the U.S. extensively during the mid-90's. Grammy-nominated producer John Cuniberti (Joe Satriani, The Neville Brothers, Michael Manring) produced the band's second album, "Mister Moon". Jay wrote the hit single "She Said" from "Mister Moon" which enjoyed a brief stay in the U.S. Top40 chart. "Mister Moon" received airplay on KFOG and led to a live on-air performance and interview of the band. Brian Wachhorst (guitar/ vocals): Brian was the founder and lead singer of the power-pop quartet, The Aftershocks. The 1993 SF Weekly reader's poll named them as one of the ten most popular Bay Area bands along with Counting Crows and Cake. Brian started another project in 1994 - the Bay Area headliner YellowWood Junction. YellowWood Junction performed regularly to packed houses across the Western U.S., sharing the stage with bands like Train and Third Eye Blind. In 1995, KFOG featured Brian's song "Fade to Blue" on the "10 O'clock News" radio broadcast. This was just the beginning of his extensive international AAA radio airplay, which includes four songs from his album "The Life of Riley" (released in 2000).
